Flagged projects (Red and Amber)
Sorted by RAG, then forecast over fee
Fee burn vs % complete
Above the dashed diagonal = fee used ahead of progress · bubble size = agreed fee · flagged projects labelled
Red — Over fee, or a stage 25+ pts ahead of progress

Alerts board
Dated from the weekly fee burn series (time booked each week, cumulative) · progress from month-end PM snapshots, interpolated weekly · stage rules checked at each month-end report · as at 30 Sep 2026
Current condition still holds at 30 Sep 2026 · each with a next action for this week, taken from the insights panel next steps (recommendation, not data) · each action has an owner; use Assign to hand it off (demo: saved in this browser only)
Previous resolved (condition later cleared) or superseded (escalated, or replaced by a newer alert on the same rule) · kept for the record
What's working: lessons from on-track projects
Burn gap by project (pts)
Fee burn minus % complete · reference lines at +5 and −5 pts
Burn-rate forecast: where each active project lands if nothing changes
Forecast at completion = time to date ÷ % complete (straight line) · bars = forecast % of agreed fee, sorted by £ over/(under) · dashed line = 100% of fee · where the dashboard's prudent stage-level forecast is higher, it is shown after the label

Stage detail
Stage view: findings shown by stage where the data supports it. HV-2407 looks on track at project level; Stage 4 has used 83% of its fee at 44% complete.
Amber "Hrs this qtr" = hours booked this quarter to a stage already marked Complete (HV-2407: 44 h to S3 after sign-off). Text box is static, as in Data Studio.
Project notes
Dated notes from the project team: what happened, at which stage, and why · status is the writer's call at the time, separate from the dashboard's calculated RAG · sample notes are fictional

Project fee burn with notes marked
Why projects slip: reasons from project notes
Count of notes by reason across all projects · each note has one reason · positive 'Going well' reasons are not counted here; they feed the 'What's working' insight · includes notes added in this browser
What does this mean?
Dashboards show what happened to the fee; notes record why. Counted across projects, the reasons show where fee is really being lost, so you know which habit to fix first. Here, client changes worked on before a fee variation was agreed come up most, followed by site and supplier problems that forced redesign. That points to two fixes: log every change as a variation before the work starts, and allow for survey and supplier risk in fee proposals.
